The birth of a new brand. Creative direction, brand positioning, brand story, brand writing, internal comms, advertising, signage, branding, merchandise.

THE CONTEXT

Hood River Distillers wanted to create a premium vodka and formed a partnership with the famed, historic Timberline Lodge on the slopes of Mt. Hood, but they weren’t sure what to do with that partnership.

THE SOLUTION

We saw an opportunity align the vodka with a larger, yet focused audience that celebrates outdoor life and designed the brand around a simple narrative: Timberline is the vodka for the “Outer Class.” Unlike, the creative class, or the upper class, the Outer Class is for anyone drawn to the energy of the outdoors. The idea of the Outer Class was born from a collection of product and brand truths. From this story we found countless ways to talk about the brand, design materials around it and bring it to life in the world. Outwards!

Canvas labels are “outdoor ready” removable, and collectable. The hiker, snow goose and skier are the first editions.
